OUR PHILOSOPHY

7 Core Values

1

Healing & Wellness

We believe healthy individuals are essential to thriving communities and a peaceful world.

Our core focus is on the holistic health and well-being of clients, supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual healing through therapeutic touch and wellness practices.

We prioritize the whole person, not just the physical symptoms, by considering the mind-body connection and incorporating other wellness practices.

2

Empathy & Compassion

We treat all clients with care, actively listening, offering support when needed and celebrating successes together.

We  ensure that the practice is always about meeting the specific needs of each client, listening to their concerns, and providing care that nurtures their well-being.

We are sensitive and understanding of individual pain or stress levels, and offer a safe, supportive environment for clients to relax and heal.

3

Integrity & Ethics

We uphold high ethical standards, ensuring that the practice is built on trust, confidentiality, and respect for the client’s boundaries and comfort.

Our therapists hold themselves to the highest standards of an ethical, boundary-driven practice. We have a zero-tolerance policy for solicitations of any kind. Jokes, innuendo, and inappropriate requests are taken seriously and will result in the swift termination of the session.

4

Respect & Dignity

We honor diverse backgrounds and respect personal values, preferences, and boundaries.

We recognize that each client is unique and provide individualized treatments based on their specific needs and concerns.

We communicate openly about treatment options, costs, and expected outcomes, ensuring clients feel informed and confident in the care they are receiving.

5

Excellence & Professional Development

We empower others through sharing knowledge and information.

We are committed  to ongoing learning, certification, and staying updated with the latest therapeutic techniques and wellness practices to provide the best service.

We ensure that practitioners are highly skilled, knowledgeable, and trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities for optimal outcomes.

Consistency, quality, and passion are at the core of everything we do.

6

Mindfulness

We remain purposeful and aware of what we do and what we say.

We practice  mindfulness during sessions to give clients our full attention and a relaxing, rejuvenating experience.

We remain aware that we are creating a peaceful environment that fosters relaxation and well-being.

7

Collaboration & Community

We value the community as an integral part of our success.

We  work closely with clients to understand their unique needs, as well as collaborate with other wellness professionals (such as dieticians, mental health professionals, acupuncturists or doctors) to provide comprehensive care.

We actively participate in and contribute to the local community, promoting wellness through outreach, events, or wellness workshops.

FAQs

Is massage supposed to hurt?

At Nia Wellness Oasis, we believe that massage does not have to hurt to be healing or effective. Trigger point work may be intense, but should generally stay within a level of 5-7 on a pain scale of 1-10. You may be slightly sore a day or two after a deep tissue massage or specific techniques used for addressing injuries or scar tissue. Your therapist will communicate with you about your desired level of pressure to make sure you are comfortable throughout the session.

Will I be covered up?

Yes. Illinois state law requires that clients are draped (covered with a sheet or towel) at all times, with the exception of the body part being worked on. You (the client) can choose to undress to your comfort level. Some people prefer to keep on their undergarments, while others prefer to remove them. If you ever feel uncomfortable, you should let the therapist know immediately.

Can I talk during my massage?

By all means, chat away. Please keep in mind that this scheduled time is for you to focus on your healing. Some people like to talk, others prefer silence. Your massage practitioner will only speak when spoken to out of respect for your time and healing journey.

I am pregnant, can I still get a massage?

We welcome all mothers-to-be who have entered their 2nd trimester with their Doctor’s approval.

Is tipping expected?

Although tipping is always appreciated, it is not expected. As a matter of fact, we would much rather you apply your tip toward your next visit with us. Incorporating massage regularly into your wellness routine with us is the biggest tip we could ask for!
